Protestant?? No fuckin way

Church of England my ass..? so I grew up ticking the Protestant box on the national census, blindly submitting to this label without even the foggiest idea what it was supposed to mean, or how it was different to other strains of Christianity.. neither did my mother come to think of it, yet she still claims she's Protestant ( I know she has no clue what it actually entails).  So a few years ago I started questioning shit like that, and actually reading up on what the fuck it was all suposed to mean.  Turns out they sent a Protestant Priest as opposed to a Catholic one on the first fleet as the King and his croneys believed it was a much better method of control for the uncivilised 'whoring and whiskying' convicts they'd herded onto the boats.  In fact I realised that the more one read about religion, the more exposed for its fraud it became... and only the truly ignorant or fearful would continue to submit the lies and false promises.. ok and the stupid.  So I quickly found myself becoming more aligned with the Atheist perspective of things, with the exception of one or two points.. but more or less they seemed to be much closer to the truth using science as their gospel rather than an old book of chinese whispers, old wives tales, myths and superstitions...

I must admit I felt at first a little hostile to all this clerical bullying and bullshit, but now to me, with all the wars, death, torture, rape etc etc aside.... its purely comical.  So I felt compelled to produce a couple videos expressing both the evil and the comedy of monotheism and its minions..

The first one I whipped up back in 2008 on my old prehistoric get up was Dubstep Debates the Deluded.  It served as a bit of good old honest therapy for me, and I made a couple new friends out of it...

Inspired by this great speech by Richard Dawkins who tore the Pope a new one following his scandalous accusations, I compiled this video collage.. then was blown away by the awesome soundtrack laid down over it by Jermaine Inoue of the equally inspiring Black Atheists of America.  By this stage I was beginning to understand the benefits of cooperation and collaboration, and illustrated my beliefs that there are only 2 kinds of people in this world, the sheep, and the free thinkers, and we are being programmed to divide (so they can conquer) ourselves by race, religion, sex, class, etc etc  The following video is ample evidence that shit can get done, and people from opposite sides of the globe can have parallel thought processes..  Im very proud of this little gem..

And to cap off, 20 minutes of media mania.. a kind of tribute to my hero Christopher Hitchens, and the Black Atheists of America.. both of whom stand up for their beliefs in face of advertisy and disaproval from the ignorant masses...  Rispek!

Narc Lazy Ass Stoned on the Sofa Playlist

If you're anything like us, you prefer just to click play once and let your music/videos play without having to get up every few minutes to select the next tune/vid... unless of course you're a DJ where manipulating the music is what its all about.  We have a kick ass phat wide screen TV, surround sound, and the comfiest of all motherf*ckin sofas ever.. so in order to watch my best vids, mashed in with my favorites on other channels I decided to create this playlist.  That way all you gotta do is click play once, select full screen, and Bobs your uncle.  So now you can watch back to back hours of of cool shit, fat beats.. and the abnormal while you focus your energies on skinning up, drinking your beer, seducing your lady friend, or entertaining guests...  this playlist actually went down at treat at Splendour in the Grass in Byron last year as a back drop to Audin Elsewhere's set...  enjoy.

Casa Boedo

As per a previous blog, this trip to Argentina,(after visiting my little girl of course) was meant to be a more productive visit, and I had decided to produce a documentary on the true nature and culture of the city, country & people.  The purpose of the flick was to rise above my own prejudices and give everyone a voice who otherwise did not.  After moving into a share house in Boedo (the birth place of tango) weird shit ensued as I found myself living in a building of trippers, gay couples and drag queens..  The bear scene in particular was particularly creepy and a found it challenging to get settled at start.  Bears and Chasers did end up featuring in the film, and it was educational to say the least...  It was however an important theme in light of the new Gay Marriage Legislation that had been passed by Christina Kirschner the previous year, the 10th country in the world, and the first in South America.

The first weekend after moving in a house party was thrown to celebrate the joint birthdays of one of my housemates and his friend.  And man, they know how to throw a good party.  Fancy dress was the theme, each gay frocking up as a trannie... I managed to find a blonde wig and pulled off a last minute surfer dude look.  Acid was distributed to all housemates, while most other party attendees came strapped with little baggies of powder and copious amounts of booze, and thats when the chaos ensued.

My spanish still had a lot to be desired and struggled to understand in group scenarios, as opposed to one on ones where I was doing OK.  So I dropped my 'Pepa' grabbed my camera and this is what happened...

Man vs Mars

OK, this one is cool as.  One night at home watching online cinema with flatmate Mikey, we checked out 'The Hunt for Gollum' a short film based just before the first Lord of the Rings film where Aragorn hunted down Gollum who'd just fled the torture of Middle Earth.  Wasn't bad for Independent cinema.  Then when the film finished the link to 70's flick Robinson Crusoe on Mars appeared.. stoned and in the mood we clicked play and something inspiring happened.  As the film progressed, it began to take on the shape and plot of a typical Man vs Wild episode, featuring Bear Grylls.  It was a classic.  So we immediately began work downloading the audio of all the Man vs Wild episodes and got to work on a mashup parody.  A hell of a lot of work went into it from the 2 of us, and we recruited another mate the one and only Dr Si Fi to design us a new logo for it...  fuck we laughed during the making of it.. hope you all enjoy this first, or 2 parts.

Part 2 coming soon...

Banksy vs Burial

Critics of my first Banksy vs Dubstep video suggested at the time it should have been Banksy vs Burial... Hindsight of course is a bitch. Now however, a couple years later, Banksy's been busy as fuck, and now there is enough new art up around the place for a new video.. apparently (thanks to one of the many new age trainspotting art snobs who rudely pointed it out) also features artworks from Mantis, Paul Insect, FAKE, Eelus, Nick Walker, Robbo, Dolk & Pobel. Admittedly I originally thought all these pieces were Banksy's, but with so much going on these days, and conflicting information on the internet, its difficult keeping up to date on it all... I don't claim to be an expert on all things Banksy, just a mere fan. It was originally my plan to allow collaborative annotations on this video so you the viewer could label those 'not banksy's ' with the name of the particular artist, but have now discovered youtube has disabled the feature due to excessive spam. Sucks really, would have been cool to be an interactive community piece where you could all tag the video with relevant info like location, dates etc

Big ups to all wicked street artists & dubstep producers.. for me this era will be remembered for these 2 urban artforms..

... and as a footnote, getting sidetracked from the job at hand I boshed this one in about an hour or so.  Love this tune by Noisia & Foreign Beggars, and gives the vid a whole different energy & attitude.

Sydney vs Buenos Aires

Its official (in my mind at least) Sydney is a more dangerous city than many of these so called ´dangerous cities abroad´ I have always felt more fearful there than anywhere else.. Australians recently voted Sydney the worst city in Oz, where on any night out (in my experience) you will witness handful of fights/violent incidents, however in so-called dangerous Buenos Aires, I have been and done everything ive been told specifically not to do, and to date have not witnessed a single violent incident.. you could not say that if you were in Sydney, London or NY...with 4 million people in Sydney and 11 million in BsAs, you´d ignorantly assume the stats would be leaning the other way.. so turn off your fucking televisions, ignore the endless bullshit propaganda relentlessly shoved down your necks..
they are not úncivilised here, WE are the arrogant ones for thinking so!  We have a lot to learn as a young nation and culture, because we are no doubt  currently on the wrong path, and have an opportunity to learn a lot from a wiser and more experienced society..(wisdom is gained through experience right?)  Just check statistics in comparison to populations and you will see we Aussies are up there with the WORST!.. and any trawling of public forums, youtube etc.. you will see our reputation as the most loved travellers is rapidly diminishing.. we have a reputation for violence and racism..   is this what we want?  We cannot hide behind our adolescence forever, lets shut the fuck up and listen to our friends abroad and maybe we will learn a thing or two....
